During the warmer months, head down to the river and you can rent a boat for an hour for £35 and motor along the river…pretty fab family fun. They also rent out period cottages along the river, a good escape with friends.

My favourite place in lONDON IS TATE BRITAIN. tATE MODERN'S LESSER FAMOUS SISTER, IT IS MUCH QUIETER AND CALMING AND HAS A FABULOUS MIX OF BOTH MODERN (TRACEY EMIN, DAMIEN HIRST) AND MORE TRADITIONAL ART (JW WATERHOUSE'S 'lady of Shalott'). Plus it houses my favourite of hockney's work 'Mr and Mrs Clarke and percy'. AND IT'S FREE.
