Your FRI: Heston's Chilli Con Carne
Love it because… It’s an oldie by Heston, but I whip it up every x-mas. It’s devoured.
Try it yourself!
Your FRI: Milk
So many tasty new restaurants in London, but I have to give a shout out to my favourite local breakfast joint Milk-- recently expanded, revamped and better than ever.
South Londoners flock here in hordes on the weekend, but I promise it's worth queueing for.
Your FRI: Trullo
Simple incredible Italian restaurant with a fantastic menu. The nettle pasta is sublime!
Your FRI: SCHØNNEMANN
There's one restaurant called Schønnemann in the city centre which has been open since the 19th century, and you really feel like you're stepping back into a different age. It's really old-fashioned. It's only open for lunch, and it's always booked. You go there to drink lots of schnapps, lots of beer, and big slabs of cured stuff with a bit of bread underneath them.
Your FRI: AMASS
I don't eat out much. I'm more of a park guy, but the last restaurant I went to was Amass, across the harbour from Kastellet, which is outstanding. I ate one of the best vegetarian dishes I've ever had in my life there – biodynamically grown pumpkin, cooked slowly with freshly made hazelnut oil. It sounds like nothing but when you eat it, it's just extraordinarily good. The chef, Matt Orlando, used to be my sous chef, and if he continues the way he is going right now, he's going to be the next king of Europe.
Your FRI: BROR
Quite a few people who have worked with me have set up restaurants in the city. One of the more affordable ones is a place called Bror which means brother, owned by Victor Wågman and Sam Nutter. It's quite new, always packed but very relaxed – you could almost come naked if you wanted to.
Your FRI: MANFREDS
Set up by Christian F Puglisi and Kim Rossen. You go there to eat vegetable dishes and have a glass of biodynamic wine – you almost feel healthy as you leave.
Your FRI: Lummi Island, Bellingham, Washington State. WILLOW'S INN
Not just Blaine worked here but because he’s tapping into the Native American knowledge bank, which I personally think is an untapped resource.

Your FRI: NYC, THE POOL ROOM - FOUR SEASONS RESTAURANT
I personally consider this restaurant to be one of the most beautiful in the world. When I first moved to New York in 1993 it was the place my boyfriend (now husband) and I would go to for any kind of celebration. The iconic building, the impeccable service, fantastic seasonal food, the cotton candy dessert, and above all the fact that everything is original to when it first opened. Sit at a table next to the pool and enjoy people watching and the stunning liquid chain curtains.
Your FRI: NYC, MAS
A great low-key farm-to-table restaurant with an amazing wine list. I went with a friend recently and had an incredible Châteauneuf. They have a very interesting but simple seasonal menu. A table upstairs is lovely and very private.
Your FRI: Paris, Japanese, YAM'TCHA
The last meal that truly impressed me was salmon sashimi followed by a light and beautifully balanced rice pudding at Yam’Tcha, a tiny French-Chinese restaurant with only about six tables in the first arrondissement. It serves traditional Chinese food like nothing I’ve tasted before, and I love that it has a tea-tasting menu as well as alcohol.
Your FRI: London, WOLSLEY
When I come to Europe, I like to go to elegant places. Down-the-hole places are great, too, but it’s nice to have some glamour.
